Course Description: This mini-course covers basic principles of CRISPR technology to advances in its applications for developing therapies. This will be partly hands-on workshop style course helping students to design CRISPR targeting along with the utility of CRISPR/dCas9 systems in mammalian genomes for translational applications. It covers in- depth understanding of challenges of gene-editing systems along with their delivery aspects and basic understanding of regulatory affairs concerning CRISPR based therapeutics. Students will brainstorm and present a case study for developing a CRISPR based therapeutic approach along with possible challenges to be addressed.
