Course Description: This mini-course covers basic principles of CRISPR technology to advances in its applications for developing therapies. This will be partly hands on workshop style course helping students to design CRISPR targeting along with the utility of CRISPR/dCas9 systems in mammalian genomes for translational applications. It covers in-depth understanding of challenges of gene-editing systems along with their delivery aspects and basic understanding of regulatory affairs concerning CRISPR based therapeutics. Students will brainstorm and present a case-study for developing a CRISPR based therapeutic approach along with possible challenges to be addressed.
