In this intensive mini-course, we delve into the core methods used in genetic epidemiology to dissect the genetic basis of complex traits. Our focus will be on the implementation and interpretation of genome-wide association studies (GWAS), genetic correlations, polygenic risk scores, and Mendelian Randomization. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of how these methodologies contribute to our understanding of the genetic architecture underlying complex traits and diseases. The course is structured to provide a rich learning experience, combining theoretical seminars with practical, hands-on sessions focused on cardiovascular and neurodegenerative disease.
