Course Description: The course will combine a lecture/discussion component for each organism being studied followed by a practical, lab-based, learning component. The objective is to increase the students’ familiarity with diverse model organisms used to study development and embryogenesis, and the respective model system’s’ strengths/weaknesses in addressing biological questions. Students will be expected to work with the following species: mouse, zebrafish, chick, fly and worm.
