Course Description:  Neurodegenerative diseases present with a diverse array of symptoms and their pathophysiology is likely to be just as varied. This course will explore the genetic and environmental contributions to disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, frontotemporal lobar degeneration, Huntington’s disease and chronic traumatic encephalopathy. The goal will be to survey these contributions to better understand the molecular pathways, cellular factors and organismal systems that underlie these diseases.
