The iteration of the course includes:
(i) proposing the idea that story is a method that can be useful in science, just as proteomics can be useful in science
(ii) a framework of story arching across the course with each unit being recognized as a chapter in the larger story
(iii) the structure of topic units with pre-class self-assessment of knowledge and goals, non-synchronous topic exploration, synchronous topic presentation and discussion, and post-class self-assessment of learning.
Planned units include Introduction, Concepts in Story and Education, The Neurobiology of Story, Story in Science Education, Story in Science Communication: communication within scientific communities, Story in Science Communication: scientists communicating with the public, Science Inclusion and Access through Story, Telling your Science Story, Metacognition of Story, and A Life in Science.
