Cell-based therapy, which involves the administration of cells as living agents to fight disease, has in recent years experienced explosive growth in clinical deployment. These include the successful treatment of lymphoid cancers using adoptive cell transfer of genetically reprogrammed CAR T cells or the recent FDA approval of CRISPR-edited Hematopoietic Stem Cell the treatment of Beta thalassemia and sickle cell disease.
Our mini-course offers a deep dive into the diverse aspects of immune and stem cell therapies. You'll hear from experts leading the way in cell and protein engineering, synthetic biology, gene editing, and clinical manufacturing. You will learn about the latest advances in Cell Therapy and cover how Hematopoietic Stem Cells, T cells and NK cells are being used to tackle cancer, infectious diseases, and autoimmune disorders.
