Course Description: This mini-course will be a deep dive into the literature around exosomes and their role in regulating immunity.  There will be a total of 9 sessions with each session consisting of an introductory ~30 min presentation by one of the three faculty providing background in a topic area followed by discussion of a selected paper on that topic.  The first week will cover basic principles of extracellular vesicles and their biogenesis.  Week two will dive into exosome-mediated regulation of immunity in model systems of host defense, chronic inflammation, and cancer biology.  Week three will introduce emerging interests in exosomes as biologics for treating human disease.
