Course Description: It is well known that the vast majority of participants in genetic studies are of European descent.  In this mini-course, we will give an overview of the rationale for large-scale genetic studies, the types of genomic resources that enable these studies, and the potential uses of genetic discoveries (and downstream health benefits).  Roughly speaking, genetic studies most directly benefit the populations that are studied, so any inequities in genetic research will propagate down into inequities in the potential benefits of this research.
