This course provides an overview of modern light microscopy and applications in biological research. We will explore how a microscope works, and how to utilize light microscopy to gain biological insight, including the principles and applications of super-resolution and light-sheet microscopy. The course combines lectures, literature discussions and hands-on activities with the goal to provide students with an understanding how to utilize microscopy in their own research.
