Broadly, in this minicourse we want to explore how cellular identity is attained and maintained. We will explore both general principles, such as bistability and feedback, molecular mechanisms, such as the relationship between chromatin modifications and transcription and gene splicing, as well as cell biological concepts, such as nuclear architecture. We will discuss how all these mechanisms act together to affect cell fate.
